Because of You (Poem)

From you, I learned how to be strong
Not to be affected by others, not to lose myself
No matter what they say
You are you – no need to yield to others

Through you, I found some old scars
Buried deep inside for years and years
Appeared as pitch-black shadows
By exposed to your bright, shining spirit

Because of you, I am now stronger
Your undisturbed calmness showed how to stay unaffected
Know yourself – your mission, at the moment
Release unwanted thoughts, from your mind

With you, my life is less complicated, more rewarding
Your straight-forward words linger on and melt my old-self
Wonder what roles we carried in our previous life
Lord and butler? Neighbors? Cousins? Or mother and daughter
