Your Joy is Your Sorrow Unmasked (Poem)

Gibran said, joy and sorrow are inseparable
When you are in sorrow, its counterpart, joy, is sitting aside hiding
For you to experience
When you are in joy, vice versa

The sorrow that a Highly Sensitive Person goes through
Can be fifty times more intense, severe, and unbearable
As if, thrown into a cold, pitch-black, bottomless void
Sinking deeper and deeper, all alone, with no one around to seek help for

However, Gibran left us his immeasurable insight
Showing how opposite elements, Yin and Yang, interrelate to one another

“The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.”

Now, your heart must be somewhat lifted, with this Gibran’s wisdom
